Forest Grace by the Myth Makers, Donna Dodson and Andy Moerlein is based on the iconic stance of the ruffed grouse. The atrium underneath the wings imitates the protective stance of the mother hen towards its young. Our sculpture invites interaction from small children, who can crawl through its legs, to teens and adults, who can walk beneath the wings. Forest Grace premiered at Chesterwood, the Historic House and Gardens of Daniel Chester French in Western Massachusetts in 2015 and traveled to the Art Complex Museum in 2016.
